Overview In this role you drive environmental NEPA documentation and related coordination for major transportation clients, guiding projects from planning through construction. You work largely independently while collaborating with design teams to deliver compliant, timely, and high-quality outcomes. You will mentor junior staff and influence project strategy and permitting efforts. The position offers a chance to shape environmental processes for Amtrak, PennDOT, SEPTA, and PA Turnpike initiatives within a regional team.
Responsibilities- Lead data collection and analysis for projects; determine methodologies and set up field data collection
- Serve as task lead or principal author for environmental reports
- Provide technical environmental support to project managers during planning, design, and construction
- Review work for compliance with design criteria and regulatory standards; identify need for further investigations
- Lead marketing and proposal efforts for opportunities and projects
- Lead preparation of permit applications and supporting documents for local, state, and federal regulatory regimes
- Organize and participate in public meetings and client meetings; lead discussions on environmental issues
- Mentor junior staff and provide recruiting recommendations and performance feedback
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience
