Overview Senior Project Architect for HealthCare leads technical execution on SmithGroup's healthcare projects, overseeing large commissions while guiding smaller ones. You provide architectural standards, QC, and mentorship within the healthcare design team, collaborating with design and technical architects and owners. You shape documentation from schematic design to construction administration and help develop trusted client relationships. Responsibilities- Provide guidance on unusual or complex issues across the office
- Deliver technical leadership on large design commissions while overseeing multiple small/medium projects
- Conduct quality control reviews and enforce guidelines
- Direct team members in applying architectural standards and guidelines
- Collaborate with design architects, technical architects, and owners on documentation and construction administration
- Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching
- Participate in recruitment and interviewing as requested
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience as a technical architect leading medium to large projects
- Architectural Registration required
- Strong technical competence from schematic design through construction documents
- Understanding of code implementation, jurisdiction review, construction practices and methodologies
- Experience leading other architects and project groups
- Proficiency with Revit and SketchUp
