Laboratory Manager/Instructor (55228)

In this role you will split time between teaching biology and supporting research labs. You will manage lab facilities, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate instructional lab activities. You'll prepare materials, supervise student workers, and support outreach initiatives. This position blends hands-on education with practical lab stewardship to enable effective teaching and safe, productive research environments. You help shape a compliant, well-organized lab culture that fuels student learning and research success.

• Coordinate laboratory inventory, supplies, and equipment
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and safety standards
• Prepare lab materials and monitor chemical storage
• Assist with lab instruction and student support
• Maintain safety documentation and conduct safety training
• Supervise student workers and graduate assistants
• Coordinate lab scheduling and usage
• Support outreach activities (e.g., summer camps)

• Knowledge of lab safety procedures and MSDS protocols
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Master's degree in science-related field
• Preferred certifications: Laboratory Safety/Chemical Hygiene, OSHA Laboratory Safety Training, Biosafety Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, First Aid/CPR, Hazardous Waste Handling
