Overview As Project Manager, HR & Legal, you will steer strategic initiatives across HR and Legal to create capacity for senior leaders. You'll translate priorities into integrated plans, manage risks, and ensure commitments are completed with clear executive updates. You will connect efforts across functions, balancing detail with broader business objectives in a fast-paced environment. This role offers visibility with senior leadership and a chance to shape cross-functional programs and governance. Responsibilities- Develop integrated project plans for HR and Legal initiatives with milestones and dependencies
- Coordinate cross-functional programs with Finance, Accounting, IR, Internal Audit, Business Technology, Store Ops, Real Estate, Purchasing, Marketing, and others
- Track HR initiatives across organizational effectiveness, talent, culture, systems, programs, and employee experience
- Track Legal initiatives in operations, compliance, risk management, litigation support, and external partner management
- Support the deployment of emerging AI tools across HR and Legal use cases
- Maintain annual HR and Legal operating calendars and lead strategic planning sessions and reviews
- Prepare agendas, executive briefings, dashboards, and status reports for senior leadership
- Maintain action logs, risk registers, dashboards, and trackers to ensure accountability
- Support portfolio prioritization, resource planning, risk management, and executive reporting
- Coordinate outside counsel and vendor activities with Legal leadership
- Identify and resolve issues proactively to keep work moving forward
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional partners
- Perform other related duties and support special projects as assigned
Key requirements- 5+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects or enterprise initiatives
- Experience supporting senior executives and preparing materials for executive audiences
- Strong business acumen and ability to link functional priorities to enterprise objectives
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to create structure in ambiguous situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present options clearly
- High level of judgment, discretion, and experience handling confidential information
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills without formal authority
- Proficiency with project management software and collaboration tools; portfolio management or dashboarding experience preferred
- Experience supporting HR transformation, legal operations, technology implementation, or similar initiatives
- Project management certification (PMP) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR, legal studies, organizational development, PM, or related field preferred
