Overview As a Senior Systems Engineer in Teradyne's IST Hardware Engineering, you will design and implement built-in self-test, telemetry, visualization and analytics for system-level test platforms. You'll shape architecture for self-verification and health monitoring across validation, manufacturing and field use. You collaborate across hardware, software, reliability and services to ensure testability and data-driven decisions, influencing future product generations. Responsibilities- Define and drive a built-in self-test, telemetry, visualization and analytics capability for complex test platforms
- Architect self-test and system-health features from requirements through design
- Enable verification of tester functionality, quality and performance before delivery
- Provide data-analysis capabilities for manufacturing and field deployment
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, reliability, QA, manufacturing and service teams
- Develop telemetry collection, structuring, visualization and analysis strategies
- Define requirements for data capture, analysis tools, troubleshooting tools, visualization and UI
- Apply AI techniques where beneficial to system-data analysis
- Shape product development by embedding testability and observability early in architecture
- Contribute to multi-generation product roadmaps for self-verification and diagnostics
Key requirements- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering and design
- Experience with architecture, requirements decomposition, traceability, system performance and scalability
- Experience defining test architecture, diagnostics, system-health monitoring, telemetry or data analysis for complex products
- Multidisciplinary expertise in complex electronic/embedded systems, automation and controls, thermal systems, power distribution or related areas
- Ability to define system-level software requirements and collaborate with software engineers
- Experience with instrumentation design and development involving electronics, firmware, FPGAs, data buses and power management
- Proven track record of commercially successful product development and broad technical breadth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
