Construction Disbursement Specialist III

Overview

In this role you will support complex commercial construction lending, ensuring accurate loan setup and disciplined disbursement against approved budgets. You will collaborate with relationship managers, title and appraisal teams, and operations to maintain integrity of budgets and cash flows. You shape loan administration workflows and contribute to process improvements within a fast-paced banking environment. This role offers meaningful impact by safeguarding project budgets and timely disbursements for construction projects at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Review construction loan agreements and budgets to confirm terms align with approvals
  • Enter and configure new construction loans in the CLCS system with proper budget setups
  • Verify budget line items and ensure disbursements stay within approved budgets
  • Perform second-level quality control on loan setup and disbursement approvals
  • Obtain approvals for budget changes and reconcile borrower's budget with bank records
  • Process disbursements (e.g., DDA, Wire) and enter them in CLCS
  • Coordinate with title companies, inspectors, and third-party providers for draw requirements
  • Monitor insurance, title dates, and inspection status; track soft costs and reserve adequacy
  • Maintain end-of-day balances and assist in training junior staff and establishing procedures for the team
  • Respond to internal inquiries and support cross-functional workflow optimization
Key requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial real estate construction loan administration experience
  • Knowledge of complex construction finance with multiple phases
  • Experience with complex loan structures including Syndication & Bond
  • Thorough understanding of Construction Loan Agreement and covenants relevant to disbursement and budgeting
  • Experience with collateral perfection and Title Policies
  • Construction loan system experience with CLCS knowledge preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organization and problem-solving abilities
