HR Business Partner II (Northern New England/Massachusetts)

As a strategic HR partner, you will coach senior managers on talent and people development and lead human capital initiatives within assigned businesses. You'll collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to align talent strategy with business goals and drive engagement, organizational design, and change programs. Your work will blend data-driven insights with practical people leadership to improve performance, implement workforce planning, and support risk-aware, compliant HR operations. This is a role for someone who shapes people strategy in a large, multi-line organization and values belonging and cross-functional collaboration.

• Provide strategic HR support and coaching to senior managers on talent, people management and career development
• Consult managers on human capital issues and promote leadership accountability for outcomes
• Lead execution of human capital plans for assigned businesses
• Influence managers on talent deployment and organizational structure based on HR/business knowledge
• Drive annual people programs and processes (engagement, calibration & review, performance and compensation) within business lines
• Participate in organizational change efforts including communication plans and design for assigned lines
• Support unification of HR services across business lines by coordinating with HR and other internal partners
• Use HR system data to deliver insights and recommendations to leaders
• Support workforce planning to ensure capability alignment with goals
• Adhere to risk and regulatory standards and escalate issues as needed
• Promote a culture of belonging and uphold M&T Bank brand and internal controls

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources and/or relevant business roles, or a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience including 5 years in HR or related roles
• Proficiency with pertinent software and HR analytics tools
