Overview

In this role you drive autoimmune disease immunology discovery programs from target discovery to mechanism studies, shaping strategy and translating findings into preclinical plans. You collaborate across biology, translational sciences, bioinformatics, and project leadership to advance early drug discovery. You design and interpret in vitro to in vivo studies and mentor teams while tracking emerging science and contributing to publications. A key hook is shaping impactful translational programs within a collaborative biotech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead discovery immunology programs from target ID to mechanism-of-action studies
  • Design and oversee in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies across innate and adaptive immunity
  • Develop disease-relevant models and translational strategies
  • Collaborate with chemistry, computational biology, biomarkers, and project management to guide programs
  • Mentor scientists and promote scientific excellence
  • Monitor emerging science and contribute to publications and conferences
Key requirements
  • PhD in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related life science; or a bachelor's with 10 years of hands-on lab experience
  • substantial industry or postdoctoral discovery research experience with leadership of early-stage programs
  • deep expertise in immunology, inflammatory signaling, and disease-relevant pathways
  • ability to design hypothesis-driven studies and translate data into program strategies
