Responsibilities- Manage operations for multiple scientific teams in the Pacific Northwest
- Lead direct reports and group leaders and their teams
- Collaborate with clients to meet resourcing and technical needs
- Hold regular meetings with direct reports, department, and client management
- Disseminate administrative communications and policies
- Handle financial responsibilities as defined by the Director
- Promote the company vision and strategic goals
- Plan and multitask to maximize productivity and value for clients
- Develop and meet quality and productivity metrics
- Oversee employee reviews, development, and performance processes
- Coach and develop group leaders and staff; support succession planning
- Organize technical resources to meet client goals within deadlines
- Ensure adherence to high quality and efficiency in laboratory operations
- Assist in Operational Excellence to improve coverage and performance
- Identify and manage risks to business continuity and resiliency
- Support senior leadership with governance and new business development as needed
- Stay current in science and consult with clients
- Foster morale and teamwork
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Biotechnical Sciences, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years leading direct reports
- Scientific background with hands-on laboratory experience in pharmaceutical, clinical, or GMP setting
- Frequent travel within the Seattle area; up to 5% other travel
- Strong client service, relationship management, and teamwork skills
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team; self-motivation and adaptability
- Ability to learn new techniques, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records
