Overview In this fully remote role, you will handle a diverse California employment defense caseload, advising clients on wage-and-hour, discrimination, and related laws while leading litigation from intake to trial. You will manage PAGA and wage-hour class actions, conduct investigations, and represent clients before agencies. The position blends advocacy, risk mitigation, and policy guidance within a collaborative team that supports professional growth. You will shape strategy, mentor juniors, and help advance the firm's client-focused defense practice.

Responsibilities- Provide guidance on federal and state employment laws and best practices, including wage-and-hour, discrimination, retaliation, and leave laws
- Manage all phases of litigation from intake to trial, including pleadings, discovery, and trial strategy
- Lead PAGA claims and wage-hour class actions, including strategy and settlements
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare reports with remedial recommendations
- Represent clients before agencies (DFEH, EEOC, DLSE) and in mediations/arbitrations
- Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and compliance materials
- Manage client relationships, communicate status, and offer litigation exposure and compliance guidance
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff; oversee billing and calendaring
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) and active California bar in good standing
- 3+ years of employment litigation experience (defense and/or plaintiff)
- Proven experience with PAGA, wage & hour, and discrimination matters; familiarity with CA employment law
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy; experience with briefs, motions, and client memoranda
- Excellent negotiation skills and track record of favorable settlements
- Ability to manage substantial caseloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
