Overview In this per diem evening role at Palomar Health, you support clinical laboratory operations while awaiting licensure. You contribute to specimen processing, ensure result accuracy, and help operate and calibrate equipment. You assist in training new staff and interact professionally with customers. You work within a compliant, quality-driven lab environment and may handle LIS access at trainee level. This is a chance to advance toward full licensure while delivering reliable lab support.
Responsibilities- Perform procedures and demonstrate proficiency in clinical laboratory areas
- Prepare specimens for acceptability and ensure result accuracy
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper documentation
- Assist in training and orientation of new staff
- Interact with internal and external customers professionally
- Follow Palomar Health policies, laws, and standards
- LIS access and security set up at Trainee level (for CLS Trainee)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- 0 - 6 months of experience (minimum)
- Current or soon-to-be licensed CLS or MTA/MTD license options pertinent to CA
- Preferred: 1 - 2 years of experience
- Required Licenses: MTA - CA Med Tech (CLS) or MTD - Clinical Immunohematologist or current CLS CA Trainee License with licensure within 90 days of hire
