Overview As Innovation Counsel, you drive practice-specific technology initiatives to maximize the value of Cooley's legal tech. You will partner with practice leaders and support teams to implement playbooks, pilots, and change campaigns that differentiate the firm through technology-enabled delivery. You'll translate legal workflows into scalable processes and collaborate across innovation, operations, and practice groups to track impact and success. Responsibilities- Support attorney-level input on targeted technology adoption initiatives across practice groups
- Design actionable playbooks to promote best practices for innovation tools
- Coordinate presentations, status reports, and executive briefings
- Collaborate with leadership on prioritization processes and evangelize their value
- Set objectives, metrics, and timelines for technology adoption in practice groups
- Assess current workflows with practice management and pricing teams to improve efficiency using technology
- Lead pilots, proofs of concept, and continuous improvements in practice groups
- Support change management campaigns and develop measurement processes for impact
- Maintain practice-group specific resources and automate/scale initiatives with other departments
- Adapt responsibilities to evolving firm needs
Key requirements- 4+ years direct applicable experience in legal practice or legal technology adoption
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage and other firm applications
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required
- Active bar membership in jurisdictions where you work and located office, or in-house counsel status
- Juris Doctor(ate) or non-US equivalent
- Experience leading cross-functional projects involving legal tech, knowledge management, IT, and practice group leadership
- Understanding of large law firm finances and work allocation processes
