Overview In this role you will serve as a subject-matter expert in underwriting, independently handling complex offerings and managing assigned portfolios. You will coach and guide other underwriters, assess credit risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. You'll interact with customers and internal teams to structure credit solutions that align with risk appetite and business objectives. Responsibilities- Prepare offerings for transactions of varying complexity and manage assigned portfolios
- Provide credit structuring recommendations and, when appropriate, make credit decisions
- Act as subject-matter expert for certain asset classes and coach/mentor junior team members
- Identify risks and mitigants using financial analysis to prepare risk ratings or scorecards
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met and internal policies followed
- Engage with internal/external customers to gather information and resolve data gaps
- Possibly perform pre- and post-approval activities and support risk management for the portfolio
Key requirements- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures and documentation
- Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and market research
- Ability to make or recommend credit decisions and to use independent judgment
- Familiarity with regulatory environment in financial services
