Overview In this role you will lead a large-scale airport project, guiding scope, planning, construction, and closeout while maintaining client satisfaction and quality. You work closely with cross-functional teams to implement the JWI Playbook and ensure seamless on-site operations at ORD. You shape project strategy, manage risks, and mentor staff, contributing to the growth and efficiency of a major airport development. Responsibilities- Act as the primary interface with the client and lead the project team through the entire project process
- Lead high-level planning and programming analysis, including technical documents and proposals
- Set objectives, procedures, roles, and performance standards within contract boundaries
- Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors to resolve issues
- Participate in business development discussions with existing and new clients
- Represent the company in project and strategy meetings
- Schedule and lead meetings and distribute minutes
- Implement the JWI Playbook and ensure adherence to project management practices
- Produce progress, cost, and scheduling reports
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenses; monitor changes
- Interview, negotiate, and revise contractual agreements with stakeholders
- Oversee project staff and on-site construction activities
- Develop contingency plans and mitigate risks
- Provide coaching and mentoring to project staff
- Ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Prepare and monitor design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Perform other duties as required
- Close out projects with punch lists and final deliverables
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering, or equivalent experience
- PMP, PMI certification, EIT or Professional Engineer preferred
- 5-10 years airport project management experience
- 5-10 years experience with stakeholders in aviation
- Experience across all construction project phases from start to closeout at an airport
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings/details
- Knowledge of airport operations
- US Citizen with valid driver's license
- Able to pass airport background check for badging
- Experience leading teams and mentoring staff
- Strong contract management, budgeting, and estimating knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with managers and peers
- Active participation in industry organizations is a plus
