Overview

In this role you manage environmental assessment and remediation projects for the Great Lakes region, guiding senior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. You'll shape scope, schedules, and budgets while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The work centers on complex site investigations, remediation, and impactful client communications. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes for communities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage environmental assessment, cleanup, and remediation projects with focus on safety, quality, budget, and deadlines
  • Oversee Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and provide guidance on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Review technical deliverables for completeness and accuracy prior to submittal
  • Develop conceptual site models
  • Prepare proposals and marketing materials
  • Plan field investigations and write technical work plans, reports, and health and safety plans
  • Provide field support and supervise junior staff
  • Mentor staff and stay current with environmental regulations
  • Direct client and regulator communications
  • Oversee field contractors and sampling activities
  • Maintain and document field observations and sampling records
  • Oversee cleanup activities
  • Assist with training and developing environmental analysts
Key requirements
  • 8-12 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental remediation and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Experience managing federal or state brownfield/redevelopment projects (desirable)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, environmental science, engineering, or related field
  • Professional licensure (PG or PE)
  • Office-based with some field work and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
