Overview In this role you drive growth and leadership in Exponent's Construction Consulting Practice in Oakland, helping clients manage large, complex projects. You will expand services, secure new business, and lead disputes from claims through resolution. You'll develop analyses, prepare expert reports on delay, cost, and damages, and mentor and build a high-performing team. This position blends technical expertise with strategic relationship management to deliver value for clients and the firm.

Responsibilities- Develop and grow our construction consulting work by building new client relationships
- Provide strategic planning to identify and secure new business opportunities and raise brand awareness
- Generate revenue to fund and scale a team of consultants
- Oversee client assignments including claims preparation, review, and dispute support through litigation
- Prepare analyses and expert reports on construction delay, cost, damages, lost profits, and productivity impacts
- Recruit, mentor, and develop staff in areas of delays, impacts, costs, and construction advisory
- Promote Exponent offerings through client meetings, conferences, publications, and seminars
Key requirements- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture; advanced degree(s) desirable
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction claims consulting and construction industry experience
- Significant experience in contract dispute resolution, claims, litigation services, and construction management
- Preferred experience as an expert in forensic schedule delay and/or cost/damages in formal dispute resolutions
- Proven business development and client management track record
- Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills
