Overview As a Human Factors Scientist at Exponent, you will join a multidisciplinary team to analyze human performance in consumer products, work, and automotive contexts. You will assess past accidents, evaluate safety risks, and help prevent future incidents through data-driven studies and usability methods. You will manage multiple projects, design studies, and communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities- Analyze human performance across consumer, occupational, and automotive contexts on multidisciplinary projects
- Conduct literature reviews and data processing to support analyses
- Design and evaluate warnings and safety information
- Lead and manage multiple projects, including budgets, timelines, and team coordination
- Plan and execute usability testing, study design, and human factors in accident prevention
- Develop client contacts and effectively communicate results to non-technical audiences
- Provide project management support and contribute to methodological rigor
Key requirements- Ph.D. in relevant psychology or neuroscience fields
- Willing to relocate to Philadelphia or based there
- Available to start Summer 2026
- Broad knowledge of psychology literature and ability to apply it to novel problems
- Experience leading studies from design to results communication
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Assertive, self-starter with attention to detail under deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel, SPSS, MATLAB, Python, or R
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
