Overview In this role you will perform high complexity molecular testing within a clinical lab, supporting patient care and ensuring accurate results. You will work with cross-functional teams to follow procedures, maintain quality records, and resolve issues that affect test performance. The position emphasizes compliance, proficiency testing, and timely processing in a high-stakes environment. This is a hands-on role that contributes to reliable diagnostic outcomes and lab quality. You will partner with supervisors to uphold safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Follow specimen handling and processing procedures, test analyses, reporting, and record-keeping for patient results
- Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are treated as patient specimens
- Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations, maintenance, and controls
- Follow policies when test systems deviate from acceptable performance levels
- Identify problems affecting test performance and escalate or correct as needed
- Document corrective actions taken for deviations in performance specifications
Key requirements- California CGMBS license preferred
- CLS license acceptable
- 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- preferably with high complexity molecular testing experience
- NGS and/or array genotyping experience highly desirable
