Overview In this role you will lead cost estimation efforts for complex civil, structural, and tunnel projects within an employee-owned firm focused on innovative underground solutions. You work with a group of estimators to develop conceptual and production-based estimates, manage risk input, and ensure constructability and cost alignment across designs. The position sits at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and project controls, enabling you to shape project economics and client value. Responsibilities- Lead cost estimating efforts on complex civil, structural and tunnel projects
- Lead a group of project cost estimators
- Develop conceptual and production-based estimates and schedules for interim design deliverables
- Perform take-offs, unit price work, and maintain estimating database
- Contribute to risk assessments and distinguish estimating uncertainty from embedded construction risk
- Review in-progress drawings for constructability and specifications for cost-related issues
- Provide QA review on work by others
- Occasional field visits to observe construction means/methods and disseminate learnings
Key requirements- Minimum 10 years of direct field experience on heavy civil tunnel projects
- 20+ years in heavy civil tunnel projects preferred
- Experience with heavy civil contractor underground portfolio desirable
- Exposure to cost estimating, pricing, and construction claims or change order pricing
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional registration or certification or ability to obtain within first year
