Overview As Senior Counsel for Walmart's Health & Wellness team, you will guide HIPAA and state health privacy compliance while shaping risk based programs. You'll partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to address health data concerns, AI governance, and regulatory reporting. Your work will align legal strategy with corporate objectives in a fast moving, regulated environment. This role offers meaningfully impact on health data use and privacy at scale within a retail-health services context.

Responsibilities- Provide strategic legal guidance on HIPAA and state health privacy laws
- Develop privacy programs, playbooks, and training materials
- Advise on AI, data provenance, and algorithmic decision making involving PHI
- Draft and negotiate health data and services contracts
- Support breach response and regulatory reporting
- Partner with compliance, product, and technology teams on emerging health privacy and AI legislation
- Lead cross functional initiatives and collaborate with business leaders to align legal strategies with corporate goals
Key requirements- Deep knowledge of federal and state health privacy laws
- Extensive experience providing legal advice and developing risk mitigation strategies
- Familiarity with AI applications in healthcare, including data provenance and privacy protections
- Experience advising on compliance programs and data protection strategies
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication skills for non legal stakeholders
- Strategic, business oriented thinker with bias toward timely action
