Overview

In this role you lead large HVAC controls construction projects within Johnson Controls Building Technologies & Solutions. You drive profitable project execution, coordinating with owner and contractor teams to align strategy, scope, and risk management. You will manage schedules, costs, and change orders to ensure on-time delivery and contract alignment. The position offers cross-functional collaboration and a pathway to senior project leadership within a global, safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities
  • On-site execution lead for assigned projects and developing project schedules
  • Evaluate scope changes, directives, and bulletins; pursue change orders
  • Manage costs, billings, and cash flow to preserve profitability
  • Review contract terms and ensure compliance with standards
  • Use Microsoft Project to monitor progress and risks; communicate status to management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with installation teams and resource planning to meet objectives
  • Interface with sales, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure standards are met
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of materials for projects
  • Assist in project development efforts and training requirements so projects run smoothly
Key requirements
  • Six years of direct project management experience in Building Construction
  • Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire, and Security systems (preferred)
  • Healthcare industry project experience (preferred)
  • PMI/PMP certification expected within 2 years
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical material for non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in Project Management software and financial accounting systems
  • Strong PC skills: MS Office, Adobe Writer, Visio, Project; Windows basics
  • Travel around 40%+ depending on project
  • Ability to handle high-complexity projects with multiple subcontractors
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Ability to explain technical material to non-technical audiences
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
