Overview In this role you drive protein sciences for antibody-focused programs, performing hands-on work while shaping the technical roadmap. You will lead end-to-end antibody workflows and mentor a growing team, balancing bench execution with strategy. The role blends experimental design, data-driven iteration, and cross-functional collaboration to advance Twist's protein science capabilities. You will contribute to scalable platform development and cutting-edge antibody modalities.

Responsibilities- Develop antibody production workflows across formats (single-chain, IgG, multispecific) and purification methods
- Enhance end-to-end antibody development, including construct design, cell line development, culture, purification, and analytics
- Build and manage a team of scientists and research assistants
- Independently design/execute experiments and analyze data
- Prioritize tasks to align with company goals and manage resources
- Document results clearly and communicate findings succinctly
- Collaborate proactively and stay updated on new technologies
- Serve as the SME with deep understanding of related workflows and adjacent areas
Key requirements- PhD in a relevant field
- 8+ years of experience in protein sciences
- Hands-on experience with antibody expression and purification

- Monoclonal antibody design, expression, optimization; Fc structure-function knowledge
- Bispecific antibody architectures (Knob-in-hole, CrossMab, common light chain)
