Overview

In this role you support Ares' real estate private equity platform by underwriting and analyzing investment opportunities across industrial, multifamily, office, retail and related sectors. You will conduct due diligence, assess capital structures, and contribute to asset management and exits, while building deal-sourcing relationships. This is a growth-focused position in a high-performance, collaborative team that values integrity and market insight. The role offers exposure to multiple strategies and markets, with potential to take on front-line deal origination over time.

Responsibilities
  • Create complex financial underwriting models for acquisition and development
  • Perform asset-level and market-level due diligence
  • Understand deal capital structure, business plan, and risks through sponsor/p-market discussions
  • Assess property characteristics and operating performance
  • Identify demand drivers and gather market information from brokers and appraisers
  • Synthesize market data to forecast rent, vacancy, and liquidity
  • Evaluate development team execution capability
  • Present conclusions to senior management and participate in Investment Committee discussions
  • Support ongoing asset management including financing/refinancing and eventual sale
  • Review legal documentation with team and counsel during negotiations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • 2-4 years of finance experience; real estate investment banking or real estate private equity preferred
  • High proficiency in Excel; ARGUS helpful but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel
