Overview In this role you drive the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel oligonucleotide modalities to advance the nucleic-acid medicines portfolio. You lead and mentor scientists, partner with biology and biochemistry teams, and set technical strategy across programs. Responsibilities- Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize oligonucleotide modalities (ASOs, siRNAs, saRNAs) across drug discovery programs
- Mentor and develop junior scientists in chemical synthesis, impurity profiling, and analytical characterization
- Collaborate with biology/biochemistry teams to design in vitro/in vivo assays and enable rapid decision-making
- Serve as technical authority across the nucleic-acid portfolio and communicate progress to cross-functional teams
- Oversee lab instrumentation and operations to accelerate research outcomes
- Foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive team culture that supports scientific curiosity and problem-solving
Key requirements- Ph.D. in relevant field with 3+ years postdoctoral or industry experience
- Strong hands-on knowledge of siRNA and/or ASO therapeutics, including synthesis, purification, analytics, and backbone modifications/delivery technologies
- Demonstrated leadership in initiatives, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration (publications or patents)
