Overview

In this role you will drive commercial management across Equinix's major expansion construction projects in AMER. You'll work with Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to reduce costs, manage contracts, and ensure robust financial controls. You'll provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to optimize project economics and mitigate risks. This is a chance to impact a large, high-value portfolio and contribute to Equinix's mission of enabling innovation through digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Procure third-party consultants for design and pre-construction services
  • Develop and manage RFPs and deliverables for commercial management services
  • Oversee third-party consultants to meet deliverables and quality
  • Create GC and supplier procurement strategies with the CM team
  • Negotiate general contractor contracts with Legal and Procurement COE
  • Provide market insights on construction costs, suppliers, and benchmarking
  • Prepare budgets for design stages and present to senior management during funding
  • Advise on economical design/construction strategies and VE evaluation
  • Produce annual and quarterly cashflow forecasts and risk/change reports
  • Post-contract: monitor budget adherence, cost saving initiatives, and risk management
  • Lead commercial risk management, including audits and contingency analysis
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and manage project cash flow and close-out processes
  • Deliver CIP data to Finance and document lessons learned and WBS analysis
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in construction, business, financial or related field
  • Proven senior-level Commercial Management experience
  • Experience with mission-critical facilities and data centers preferred
  • Knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems
  • Strong Excel, Power BI, and cost management/tool skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
