Civil/Structural/Arch Construction Technical Services Lead (Data Centers)

Overview

In this role, you will lead technical services on world-class data center projects, ensuring clear interpretation of drawings and specifications and guiding issue resolution on site. You collaborate with home office engineering, outside firms, and client reps to keep information flowing and aligned with project needs. You'll support permitting, document control, and change management while mentoring the project team. Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in resolving in-progress issues related to technical interpretation of drawings and specs, coordinating timely responses from engineers
  • Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives
  • Provide on-site technical support in interpreting engineering documents, specifications, and drawings, contributing to change management
  • Engage in the Permitting process with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Collaborate with Design-Build contractors as they move to the field
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors to manage key drawings and documents in revision-controlled form
  • Lead the construction document management process with guidance from a construction document control lead
  • Serve as technically competent lead for specification deviation requests within the approved process
  • Work with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve Nonconformities (NCRs)
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the team to meet project objectives
Key requirements
  • 10 years of experience in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering or 15-20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including datacenters
  • Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards
  • Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience with certified technical training
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to read Civil/Structural/Architectural drawings
