Project Manager - Commercial Construction

As Project Manager in our Florida West Palm Beach team, you will lead administrative and field construction activities for assigned projects, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent and team. You drive scheduling, risk management, cost control, and safety, shaping project execution and value engineering opportunities. You'll engage with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on scope and on budget, contributing to Weitz's legacy of construction excellence and inclusive culture. • Develop and manage project schedules; monitor long-lead items and ensure work stays within scope
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders
• Prepare monthly project status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments
• Identify value engineering opportunities and scope reductions
• Ensure project safety plan is communicated and followed by team and subs
• Assist with preconstruction and manage buy-out processes
• Identify constructability issues in design and resolve
• Understand contract terms, budgets, insurances, bonds, and change orders; ensure adherence
• Oversee construction documents, RFIs, and submittals; review plans with team
• Coordinate scopes of work across project team; maintain strong stakeholder relationships

• 5-10 years of experience in construction project management
• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor (GC)
• Experience in education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resorts, and/or senior living construction
• Knowledge and application of Lean principles

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities
• Sound judgment and decision-making
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to learn job-specific software
• Knowledge of Lean principles
