Overview

In this role you will lead critical infrastructure projects inside AWS data centers, coordinating electrical, mechanical, and building systems to improve capacity, safety, and efficiency. You work with cross-functional teams to drive execution from planning through completion, shaping how we operate at scale across global data centers. You will tackle technically complex challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver projects that align with AWS' operational excellence and customer-focused mission. This role offers impact across locations and a culture that empowers ownership and bold ideas.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all project disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural) from direction to completion
  • Identify improvement opportunities from data and feedback and act on them
  • Design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges
  • Manage on-site construction activities and trades (mechanical, electrical, general)
  • Prioritize activities to ensure data center capacity, safety, and reliability
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across AWS to maintain alignment with strategic goals
  • Lead projects related to electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of construction or project management experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • 3+ years on-site construction trades experience (mechanical, electrical, general)
  • Vendor management experience
  • 3+ years in power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems
  • Strong ability to discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, incorporate feedback, and evaluate new ideas with stakeholders
  • Proven track record delivering results in fast-paced environments
  • Preferred: BA/BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar
  • Additional: ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
