Senior Field Property Claim Resolution Specialist, Large Loss

Overview

In this role you will manage Liberty Mutual's most complex property losses, guiding policyholders through coverage, repair planning, and recovery. You operate with high independence, inspecting sites and coordinating a network of vendors to move claims forward. You'll handle large, high-exposure cases, mentor teammates, and contribute to catastrophe response when needed. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position for professionals who thrive on solving difficult losses and restoring homes.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate high-severity property losses, determine coverage, and adjust all aspects of the claim for the dwelling and structures
  • Manage a portfolio of complex, high-exposure claims with minimal supervision
  • Inspect loss sites in person, write appraisals for repairs, and issue payments where appropriate
  • Independently scope large losses and partner with Liberty's contractor network throughout appraisal
  • Certify and re-inspect Liberty-referred contractors as needed
  • Guide policyholders through coverage, itemize damages, and coordinate emergency repairs and living arrangements
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, emergency crews, cleaning services, and replacement providers to maintain recovery flow
  • Identify suspicious losses and support SIU referrals and investigations
  • Participate in catastrophe duty when required, including CAT operations and high-profile case troubleshooting
  • Mentor property team members as a technical resource and cover for claims team manager when needed
Key requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of claims handling procedures
  • Working knowledge of homeownership policy coverages
  • Proven ability to handle the highest complexity and exposure in claims
  • Prior contracting experience preferred
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently with good judgment
  • Proven exceptional customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems
  • Completion of advanced property training
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and at least 7 years of related experience
  • Ability to obtain necessary licensing
