Overview As Senior Principal CIAM Architect, you will lead the architecture and technical strategy for Medtronic's Customer Identity and Access Management platforms serving external users. You'll partner across business and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable identity solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business goals. You'll drive design, evaluation, and implementation while ensuring operational excellence and security. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role shaping how customers access Medtronic products at scale.

Responsibilities- Lead architecture, design, and technical strategy for CIAM platforms supporting external users and customer-facing services
- Define and maintain architecture standards, reference models, and design principles for CIAM solutions
- Translate requirements into scalable, secure identity solutions in collaboration with stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership for evaluation, selection, and enhancement of IAM technologies
- Ensure platform security, availability, performance, monitoring, and operational readiness across CIAM environments
- Document technical, operational, audit, security, and support aspects per enterprise standards
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform future-state architecture planning
- Collaborate with vendors/service providers to resolve complex issues and support PoC initiatives
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in IT/cybersecurity/software engineering or related disciplines
- 5+ years as Technical Architect for CIAM/IAM enterprise platforms
- 5+ years designing or supporting IAM solutions at enterprise scale
- 5+ years in information security engineering or cybersecurity engineering
- Preferred: CISSP or comparable certification
- Preferred: 2+ years as Product Owner or platform ownership
- Prior Medtronic experience
- Advanced degree in CS/Engineering or related field (preferred)
