Overview

In this role you will provide scientific leadership for DEL selection campaigns within small-molecule drug discovery. You will design and execute DEL screening strategies, interpret sequencing data, and prioritize hits while leading cross-functional efforts to advance hits through hit-to-lead. Expect close collaboration across chemistry, biology, biophysics, structural biology, and computational chemistry to drive impactful decisions. You will shape DEL workflows and mentor scientists in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement DEL selection strategies aligned with discovery objectives
  • Plan and execute DEL screening and affinity-capture campaigns across diverse target proteins
  • Analyze DEL sequencing/enrichment data to identify meaningful hit series
  • Establish data-quality and hit-prioritization criteria (enrichment, potency, selectivity)
  • Lead hit identification, validation, and off-DNA resynthesis with orthogonal assays
  • Scale screening infrastructure, optimize reagent validation, and integrate NGS sample prep
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to advance DEL-derived hits to hit-to-lead
  • Collaborate with chemistry, biology, biophysics, structural biology, computational chemistry, DMPK, and leadership
  • Support design of follow-up libraries and focused DEL campaigns
  • Provide interpretation of DEL results and actionable project recommendations
  • Develop and maintain best practices, workflows, and SOPs for DEL selection/data analysis
  • Manage collaborations with vendors/partners
  • Present strategy, results, and recommendations to teams and senior leadership
  • Mentor scientists and foster a collaborative, rigorous research environment
Key requirements
  • PhD with 6+ years, MS with 12+ years, or BS with 14+ years in a relevant field
