Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day operations of a team of Commercial Underwriters and title professionals
- Provide underwriting guidance to personnel, agents, customers, and transaction teams
- Underwrite and approve commercial title commitments, policies, and endorsements within authority
- Ensure consistent underwriting standards and risk management
- Oversee settlement services and transaction execution guidance
- Manage priorities, workflows, resources, and performance objectives
- Support complex transactions by identifying risks and developing solutions
- Participate in operational planning and departmental strategy
- Conduct performance evaluations and mentor staff
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and retention of underwriting talent
- Partner with executive leadership on staffing and planning
- Foster accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement
Key requirements- 5-7+ years of commercial title insurance and underwriting experience
- 3-5+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial title insurance commitments, policies, endorsements, and underwriting practices
- Experience underwriting complex commercial real estate transactions (multi-property/state)
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive improvements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
