Overview In this role you will evaluate homeowners' policy risk within a tech-native carrier platform. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners to shape underwriting decisions and improve processes at Hippo. Expect to tackle diverse exposures across CA/TX markets and contribute to growth through rigorous risk assessment. Responsibilities- Underwrite new and renewal homeowners' policies
- Analyze risk data and recommend actions (inspections, loss prevention)
- Address inquiries from claims, billing, and customer support
- Operate within underwriting authority and escalate when needed
- Communicate with distribution partners and leadership to resolve matters
- Suggest improvements to underwriting processes and tools
Key requirements- 2+ years of P&C homeowners underwriting experience
- Bachelor in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong technical underwriting, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
- Experience in CA and TX markets preferred
- Wildfire and catastrophe underwriting experience preferred
