Overview

In this role you drive multifaceted construction projects from pre-construction to close-out for public and educational facilities. You will coordinate with District staff, agencies, and contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining quality standards. You'll manage budgets, schedules, changes, and payments, and ensure compliance with DSA and contract terms. This position offers impact across complex programs and a chance to shape high-profile projects. You'll work within a collaborative PMCM team to deliver value for clients and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage pre-construction, bid/award, construction, and close-out phases for assigned projects
  • Review and comment on pre-construction documents; coordinate with Designer
  • Plan reporting for upper management on project status
  • Coordinate with public agencies and District staff for off-site work
  • Monitor and control project budget and schedule; report progress
  • Oversee contractor activities, schedules, submittals, RFC responses
  • Review substitutions and negotiate Change Orders; manage schedule impacts
  • Process payments and administer professional service agreements
  • Coordinate delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment
  • Monitor project close-out and certification with DSA; financial close-out
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in Construction/Project Management with complex projects over $20M OR Twenty (20) years with proportionate experience
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction management OR CCM credential substituting education
  • Preferred: CCM credential; degree in architecture/engineering/construction management
  • Experience in Design Build, BIM, LEED/CHPS, DSA processes
  • OSHA 30 and CA licensure or equivalent (Architect/Professional Engineer) preferred
  • Strong leadership and coordination
  • Effective communication with multiple stakeholders
  • Problem-solving and decision-making under tight schedules
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • LEED/CHPS experience
  • DSA construction/design processes
