Overview In this role, you will design and scale innovative attorney development programs across the firm, guiding both legal and professional-skills training from associates to partners. You will lead the Professional Development team, oversee the CLE function, and drive the firm's AI learning strategy to keep attorneys adept with evolving tools while upholding high client-service standards. You will partner across functions to launch onboarding and ongoing training, shaping the attorney experience and firm capabilities. Responsibilities- Oversee attorney training across practice groups and career stages
- Operationalize and scale the attorney AI learning strategy and integrate AI into lifecycle training
- Develop and implement AI-related curriculum and resources
- Lead professional success, business of law, and business development training
- Manage tenure-based training programs (e.g., Tier II Academy, Senior Counsel meeting)
- Collaborate on onboarding programs for new classes (New Associate Academy, Promoted Partner Program)
- Design ongoing training on professional success, business of law, and business development
- Evaluate content sources and integrate AI training resources
- Manage external training content providers
- Implement competency models and curriculum guides
- Gather feedback via surveys, assessments, and pilots to refine training
- Create and deliver presentations on training and core competencies
- Supervise CLE team and ensure CLE credits; coordinate bar dues; align with General Counsel on CLE compliance
- Partner with PD leadership to define best practices for internal training
- Coordinate with BD & Marketing on business development training
- Work with DEI and Best Self committees on related training and wellness initiatives
- Monitor trends in professional development, AI, and learning tech to introduce innovative solutions
- Build strong relationships with attorneys and business professionals to leverage PD offerings
- Approve training-related expenses
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years legal practice in a large law firm or experience in professional development/training (law firm or professional services)
- Experience with or exposure to legal technology and AI tools (preferred)
