Regional Medical Scientific Director (aka Medical Science Liaison) Immunology - GI (North Texas)

Overview

In this role you will serve as a field medical expert, engaging with Scientific Leaders to exchange scientific information and advance company scientific goals in immunology and IBD. You'll align with GMSA strategy, SOPs, and GCP guidelines while supporting approved and in-development trials. You act as a bridge between the scientific community and the company, mentoring colleagues and shaping investigator-driven research. The position offers a chance to influence clinical science, education, and stakeholder engagement at a regional level.

Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with national and regional Scientific Leaders to share company-approved medical information
  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain regular medical contacts for SLs
  • Field scientific inquiries and guide questions outside scope to appropriate resources
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AOI and therapeutic area dynamics
  • Initiate discussions with SLs and investigators to evaluate alignment with research strategies and study concepts
  • Identify sites and investigators for phase II-IV programs and conduct Site Initiation Visits
  • Collaborate on protocol development with GCTO and address investigator questions about participation
  • Engage in scientific congresses and meetings to exchange data and insights
  • Gather feedback on medical needs and priorities from SLs and patients
  • Demonstrate inclusive leadership and role-modeling within the field medical team
Key requirements
  • PhD/MD/DO/etc. and 3+ years immunology experience in IBD beyond doctoral training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders
  • Commitment to scientific excellence and dialogue
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking abilities
  • Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and related regulations
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt in a changing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote)
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the territory
