Overview

In this Structural Lead role, you will provide technical leadership for structural engineering on major infrastructure projects from Sacramento. You'll drive design criteria development, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and support complex delivery from planning through construction. You'll work with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet program standards and seismic and environmental requirements. Responsibilities
  • Develop and direct Structures Design Criteria for Bridges, Retaining Walls, and Buried Structures
  • Coordinate with Seismic Specialist Team on Ground Motion and Fault Crossing procedures
  • Manage progress and timing of technical design criteria chapters
  • Supervise special studies supporting design criteria and third-party agreements
  • Assist in scope, schedule, and cost estimates for deliverables
  • Oversee final design and construction support teams for contracts and construction packages
  • Coordinate with PCM and System Assurance to ensure design-review, V&V, and interface requirements
  • Supervise due diligence reviews of technical submittals and RFIs/DVRs from PCM
  • Prepare directives and memos for design changes and environmental clearance submissions
  • Attend technical meetings to discuss design progress and issues
Key requirements
  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in California
  • Strong knowledge of structural design for bridges and transit viaducts in high seismicity areas
  • Experience with design-bid-build and design-build delivery methods
  • Project and construction management background
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Visio
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiar with transportation projects and disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate engineering solutions across planning to construction phases
  • Excellent communication skills
