Overview

In this role, you drive pre-construction programs for Amazon's data center campuses, coordinating across Real Estate, Design Engineering, and Due Diligence to shape schedule, budgets, and constructability. You will liaison with partners to align on site requirements and develop handoff documentation for Construction Managers. This position offers exposure to cutting-edge data center design and large-scale delivery, with a focus on value, risk management, and successful preconstruction execution.

Responsibilities
  • Perform constructability reviews for data center scopes and drive baseline improvements
  • Evaluate build phasing across civil, structural, and electrical domains for site viability
  • Communicate site requirements impacting schedule, cost, and integration with surrounding properties
  • Negotiate with land sellers, developers, and GCs; evaluate bids, proposals, and scoping documents
  • Manage GC and other third-party vendors delivering preconstruction services during design
  • Define construction scopes and issue RFPs to General Contractors; review bid summaries and milestones
  • Support issuance of contracting documents (Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Letters)
  • Develop handoff project documentation for Construction Manager partners
  • Capture, share, and apply lessons learned to improve program delivery
  • Travel up to 25% as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment and electrical/mechanical infrastructure
  • Experience reading construction specifications and drawings across domains
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
  • Proven ability to manage design-to-deployment processes and vendor relationships
  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
