Overview

In this role you will lead Siteworks on the SPL5 expansion, directing craft activities, schedules, and subcontract coordination to deliver 3D earthworks, ground improvements, and concrete works. You'll support preconstruction planning from the Houston office and relocate to Sabine Pass, LA for long-term field work. You will ensure safety, quality, and alignment with design changes while optimizing labor and equipment use. This is a hands-on leadership role within Bechtel's large-scale LNG infrastructure program.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise craft activities and develop work schedules
  • Interpret engineering and vendor documents for construction execution
  • Contribute to planning construction methods and drawings
  • Forecast workforce, material, and equipment needs
  • Coordinate with labor relations on craft recruitment and training
  • Approve workforce requirements and review craft performance
  • Manage field material requisitions and tool provisioning
  • Monitor installation against drawings and specs
  • Ensure compliance with Bechtel policies and safety standards
  • Maintain three-week look-ahead for labor and equipment
  • Provide input to Field Engineering for quantity tracking
  • Support safety and ES&H programs
  • Conduct employee reviews and identify development opportunities
  • Interface with site management for area coordination
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience with a degree, or 6-9 years without a degree
  • Technical knowledge of earthworks, ground improvement, and in-situ concrete works on infrastructure projects
  • Civil construction experience on large projects
  • Knowledge of construction technologies and supervision
  • Familiarity with quality standards and ES&H principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
