Overview

In this role you will lead chromatography-based purification for small-molecule drug discovery, specializing in preparative LC and SFC. You will support medicinal chemistry and high-throughput workflows, optimize purification methods, and maintain reliable instrument operations. You'll collaborate with chemists to deliver purified compounds with suitable purity and recovery, while exploring new purification methods and workflow improvements. This position offers hands-on lab work in a fast-paced, collaborative scientific team with impact on pipeline progress.

Responsibilities
  • Perform purification of small molecules using preparative LC and SFC to support medicinal chemistry and high-throughput workflows
  • Develop and optimize purification methods (column/mobile-phase, gradients, loading, fraction collection)
  • Operate prep LC/LC and LC/MS systems and perform analytical QC of purified compounds
  • Conduct routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot chromatography systems, fluidics, hardware, and software
  • Monitor instrument performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
  • Support high-throughput and automated purification workflows, data reporting, and sample handling
  • Collaborate with medicinal chemists to prioritize samples based on purity, recovery, and turnaround time
  • Assist evaluation and implementation of new purification methods, columns, instrumentation, and workflows
  • Maintain accurate experimental and instrument documentation and promote laboratory best practices
Key requirements
  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience
  • Hands-on chromatography and small-molecule purification experience
  • Working knowledge of chromatographic separation principles and method optimization
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
