Overview As Sr. Scientist SME-Photonics, you will provide onsite R&D leadership in photonics and related disciplines to support DARPA programs and other government initiatives. You will work with a cross-disciplinary team to advance photonic, quantum, and unconventional computing concepts, translating complex science into actionable program decisions. This role places you at Arlington, VA, interfacing with senior government personnel to shape technology strategies and mission outcomes. You will drive impactful research, coordinate efforts, and help deliver secure, advanced capabilities to the warfighter.
Responsibilities- Provide support for existing and new programs across optics, photonics, physics, materials, AI/ML, mathematics, engineering, quantum, chemistry, biology, and related fields
- Work on technical thrust areas: Photonic Circuits, Quantum Circuits, Organic Circuits, and Unconventional Computing
- Apply uniquely qualifying research and credentials to be regarded as an authority in a highly specialized area
- Contribute onsite technical expertise at client site in Arlington, VA
- Assist in planning and coordinating R&D activities and program execution
- Advise senior government personnel with mature technical judgement and clear communication
Key requirements- Masters degree in a technical field
- 20+ years of experience
- Active Secret clearance
- Ability to make independent decisions on R&D engineering problems
- Experience with advanced techniques and practices in a scientific/technological discipline
- Strong oral and written communication
