Architecture Project Manager: Construction Administration

Overview

You will lead CA for education projects at LPA, guiding projects from bid to closeout while coordinating with clients, AHJs, and consultants. In this role you drive QA/QC, manage commitments, and oversee field observations to ensure design intent is realized on site. You'll mentor staff, manage project finances, and serve as Architect of Record when needed. The position offers growth through mentorship and ongoing education in a collaborative, mission-driven firm.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as prime on-site contact to shepherd projects through construction
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships and coordinate with AHJs and consultants
  • Lead Bid and Award phase activities including meetings, substitutions, addenda, and AHJ processing
  • Oversee construction administration tasks: QA/QC, change orders, RFIs, submittals, document control, and closeout
  • Conduct on-site observations, document findings, and interpret design intent to resolve issues
  • Attend construction meetings, perform punch walks, and review closeout documents
  • Manage client billing, revenues, staffing projections, and project finances
  • Mentor staff on CA procedures, project processes, and team development
  • Prepare schedules, budgets, work plans, and additional service proposals
  • Review Owner-Architect and Owner-Contractor agreements and stamp project documents as Architect of Record
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in all phases of design projects
  • 5+ years of Construction Administration experience
  • Licensed Architect in California
  • Public K-14 / DSA experience with at least one project through DSA closeout
  • Knowledge of project business: scope, fee, schedule, budget
