Overview In this hybrid role in Midtown Manhattan, you will oversee commercial title coordination and processing to support complex real estate transactions. Responsibilities- Open and establish new transaction files and draft initial requirements and notes for title commitments under underwriting guidance
- Review purchase/sell/loan documents, affidavits, surveys, and due diligence to identify title issues and required actions
- Coordinate all aspects of title orders from opening to closing with clients and internal teams
- Assist senior underwriters by gathering, reviewing, and organizing documentation for underwriting decisions
- Order and track due diligence items (title searches, lien reports, UCCs, tax certificates)
- Analyze title searches, surveys, and legal descriptions to identify defects or discrepancies
- Prepare title commitments, preliminary reports, endorsements, and final policies
- Work with escrow and closing teams to clear title requirements and prep for closing
- Communicate with stakeholders to obtain missing information and maintain workflow
- Assist in curative issue resolution by researching records and coordinating corrective documents
- Prepare endorsements and policy schedules for underwriting review
- Maintain detailed files and audit-ready records throughout the lifecycle
- Support post-closing processes and follow-up on outstanding items
- Monitor workflow, manage multiple files, and meet deadlines and service expectations
- Provide administrative and technical support for underwriting projects and process improvements
- Participate in ongoing training to expand underwriting knowledge and advanced title concepts
Key requirements- 4+ years in commercial title processing/coordinator/underwriting or related CRE transaction role
- Strong understanding of commercial title insurance, underwriting principles, title commitments, surveys, and related CRE documentation
- Experience coordinating with lenders, attorneys, agents, buyers, sellers, and stakeholders
- Collaborative work style with underwriters, processors, closers, and external parties
- Analytical skills to interpret legal documents and identify title defects or risks
- Proficiency with title insurance production software and standard office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a client-service mindset
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for multi-transaction management
