Overview

Senior Cost Manager to lead cost management for a portfolio of complex life sciences, laboratory, and commercial projects in a campus setting. You will be the primary client interface, driving cost plans, change management, and value engineering to deliver outcomes aligned with Turner & Townsend's mission. This role offers visibility across design, procurement, and construction teams, with impact on budgeting, schedules, and final accounts. You will shape cost strategy and mentor others in a collaborative, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Estimate and negotiate change orders across the construction lifecycle
  • Develop and present final cost plans and cost planning inputs
  • Collaborate with design teams and general contractors on cost estimates
  • Reconcile data with contractors and ensure data accuracy
  • Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries for stakeholders
  • Coordinate cost information from all sources and suppliers
  • Drive cost impact awareness in engineering priorities
  • Manage cost controls, valuations, and change control processes
  • Support post-contract variances, contingency management, and documentation
  • Produce monthly cost reports and ensure timely final accounts
  • Mentor talent and demonstrate leadership in project delivery
  • Utilize internal software for margin tracking and financial reporting
  • Implement internal processes and methodologies for consistent delivery
  • Foster a one-business culture balancing people, clients, and society
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree in a construction-related field
  • 5-7 years in a cost management role in construction
  • RICS accreditation preferred or in progress
  • Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale projects
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or other technically complex projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred
