Overview As Associate General Counsel, Litigation at Roku, you will steer Roku's non-IP litigation portfolio, including consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and privacy-related investigations. You'll build case theories, captain outside counsel, and decide when to litigate, settle, or escalate, operating in a fast-moving, ambiguity-rich tech environment. You'll craft clear, persuasive writing to influence outcomes for regulators, judges, and executives. This is a chance to shape strategic litigation at scale within a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities- Manage Roku's corporate litigation portfolio outside IP, including consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and privacy-related claims
- Define case strategy and advise on litigation posture with senior stakeholders
- Oversee government investigations and regulatory matters across privacy, consumer protection, and advertising
- Coordinate cross-functional responses with Privacy, Security, Compliance, and Government Affairs
- Develop novel case theories and creative litigation strategies for non-standard matters
- Write briefs, memos, and correspondence to advance matters and persuade diverse audiences
- Build and scale repeatable litigation processes (intake, early assessment, playbooks, post-mortems)
- Manage outside counsel relationships and budgets for various litigation matters
- Provide risk insights and reporting on litigation exposure and trends to senior leadership
- Advise cross-functional teams on litigation risk and participate in strategic business decisions
Key requirements- Substantial experience managing complex litigation at a top-tier law firm or in-house
- Experience handling consumer class actions and government investigations
- Proven ability to develop litigation strategy and manage outside counsel effectively
- Excellent legal writing and verbal communication skills
- J.D. from a U.S. accredited law school and active bar membership
- Ability to operate with incomplete facts and unsettled law
- Experience in or with technology/media companies is a plus
