Portfolio Construction Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the execution of a portfolio of capital projects at Eastman, delivering safe, on-scope results on time and within budget. You collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and senior leaders to align construction plans with business objectives. You drive strategy, risk mitigation, and contractor management across sites. You help ensure quality, operability, and compliance while championing a Zero Incident Mindset and sustainable practices. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity in a large, safety-conscious organization.

Responsibilities
  • Manage capital project execution for a portfolio of projects
  • Develop and execute construction strategies supporting project objectives
  • Lead site construction from mobilization through turnover
  • Coordinate construction sequencing and execution planning
  • Lead routine construction review meetings
  • Proactively address risks impacting cost, schedule, safety, and quality
  • Coordinate workforce planning and resource loading
  • Monitor cost, schedule, productivity, and earned value metrics
  • Work with Project Controls managers to develop forecasts and risk mitigation plans
  • Evaluate project performance and identify improvements
  • Coordinate with EPCOM stakeholders and communicate projections, risks, and execution strategies
  • Promote Eastman Capital Process governance
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and codes
  • Lead resolution of quality deficiencies
  • Lead constructability reviews
  • Manage permits, change orders, contracts, and execution plans
  • Participate in benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead mechanical completion and turnover
  • Coordinate punch lists and closeout
  • Support commissioning and startup activities
Key requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of industrial construction or capital project experience
  • Minimum 5 years leading field construction execution
  • Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary construction teams
  • Strong understanding of scope, cost, schedule, risk, and quality management
  • Demonstrated leadership in large organizations
  • Equivalent experience will be considered if degree requirements are not met
