Job description

We are seeking a Trauma / Acute Care Surgery Physician Assistantor Nurse Practitioner to join a collaborative surgical team inLong Beach, California. This is a full-time opportunity providing shift-basedcoverage for trauma and acute care surgery patients in a fast-paced hospitalenvironment.

Schedule
  • Full-time position
  • Shift-based Trauma / Acute Care Surgery coverage
  • Combination of weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage based on program needs
  • Exact shift structure and annual shift commitment to be finalized

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage trauma and acute care surgery patients in the emergency department and inpatient setting
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and clinical decision-making
  • Participate in daily rounds and manage hospitalized surgical patients
  • Assist surgeons with treatment planning and execution
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative patients
  • Order and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic studies within scope of practice
  • Perform credentialed bedside procedures within scope of practice
  • Coordinate specialty consultations and multidisciplinary care
  • Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and communicate with supervising surgeons and hospital teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in trauma and acute care surgery quality initiatives

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current or eligible California PA or NP license
  • NCCPA certification for PAs or appropriate national certification for NPs
  • Eligible for hospital credentialing and clinical privileges
  • Trauma, acute care surgery, general surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, or other high-acuity experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care

Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $ 130,000
