Overview In this role you lead on-site construction and commissioning for mission-critical data center projects, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and high quality. You collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and the project team to uphold plans, schedules, and technical standards. You act as the on-site technical resource for data center systems and drive safety, QA/QC, and commissioning efforts. Responsibilities- Lead daily field operations to meet project plans, schedule, and safety protocols
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and vendors across electrical, mechanical, UPS, generators, cooling, fire protection, and cabling
- Enforce site safety programs and OSHA compliance
- Drive schedule management using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project; mitigate risks to milestones
- Oversee QA/QC activities, inspections, and corrective actions
- Support commissioning activities including pre-functional checks and system testing
- Manage change orders, RFIs, subcontractor performance, and daily reporting to PM and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, photos, manpower and equipment records, and clear communication with team and client
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE and project MOP/operating procedures
- Mentor field personnel and foster a collaborative, safety-first environment
Key requirements- Minimum 8 years of construction experience with at least 5 years as a Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects; proven data center construction experience
- Strong knowledge of data center systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, raised floors, cabling, and building automation/BMS
- Proven scheduling and coordination skills; QA/QC, commissioning support, and change management
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; ability to develop/look-ahead and resource-loaded schedules
- Ability to read architectural, MEP plans; working knowledge of drawings a plus
- OSHA 30 certification and safety enforcement experience
- Excellent communication and leadership; Spanish is a plus
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, commissioning docs; budgeting awareness
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel to sites
- Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, or LEED (nice to have)
