Overview In this role you will develop competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects and lead the bid process. You'll work within the Preconstruction department to translate drawings and specs into accurate budgets, quantify labor, materials, and timelines, and evaluate subcontractor quotes. Your insights will support value engineering and the timely presentation of bids to senior management. This position offers impact on project win rates, profitability, and the company's growth in a technology-driven construction environment.

Responsibilities- Analyze drawings, specifications and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Orchestrate estimating and bid processes for civil projects
- Identify labor, material and time requirements from proposals and plans
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Prepare bid packages and present estimates to senior management
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Provide value engineering recommendations
- Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates/tools
Key requirements- 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil construction industry
- Proven track record of take-offs and estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities)
- Proficient in civil estimating software preferred (Agtek, Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, ETC)
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
