Overview

As Project Manager for a vertical construction project in Miami, you will lead a Progressive Design-Build effort from preconstruction through closeout. You will serve as the primary liaison among the owner, architect, consultants, and OHLA teams to ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality meet expectations. You'll drive constructability input, risk assessment, and transparent reporting to leadership. This role blends design oversight with field coordination to deliver high-quality, safe, and on-time outcomes that align with OHLA's mission and client goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of a Progressive Design-Build project from preconstruction to closeout
  • Act as primary contact for owner, architect-of-record, consultants, and OHLA teams
  • Provide constructability reviews, cost input, and schedule validation with designers
  • Deliver regular updates, risk assessments, and performance reports to senior management
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent environment aligned with design-build best practices
  • Develop and manage overall project schedule including milestones, permitting, procurement, and construction
  • Coordinate with Superintendent and field teams to align design decisions with construction sequencing
  • Lead OAC meetings, design coordination meetings, and internal reviews
  • Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Prepare and manage budgets, cost models, forecasts, and cash flow
  • Support open-book cost tracking and cost transparency in Progressive Design-Build
  • Manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
  • Evaluate cost impacts of design evolution and field conditions
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and permitting requirements
  • Enforce OHLA safety policies and OSHA standards with Superintendent
  • Oversee quality control across design and construction phases
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and regulatory approvals
  • Maintain client and stakeholder relationships and ensure goals and budgets are understood
  • Support business development through positive client experiences
  • Lead closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and turnover
  • Coordinate facility handover and client-required orientation
Key requirements
  • Licensed Architect registered in the State of Florida
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in vertical construction
  • Strong knowledge of preconstruction, constructability, cost modeling, and schedule integration
  • Experience managing projects in South Florida preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven budgeting, scheduling, contracts, RFI/change order processes, and field operations knowledge
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and construction software such as Autodesk Build, Primavera P6, Bluebeam
